Meet Dani and Gary Steven

Dani

integra_hellsing

I was born the seventh son of a seventh son… wait, wrong introduction, strike that.

More like I was born the eldest girl in a family that lives a shade or two outside the normalcy range. Still, it makes us a fun bunch.

Since I was young, I have loved music, art, the well done story, and had a fascination with foreign cultures. It seems like I was destined to find a hobby in the Otaku world.

My first exposure to this world came during my brief stint in collage. I took a course in "Art History of Japan". My Professor, who was one of the greatest teachers you can ever ask for, introduced us not only to history of Japan, but to Japan itself. The course became an amazing overview of this land's history, and became the seed from which sprung my otaku obsessions.

As for the actual introduction to anime, that came from Gary Steven, Adult Swim, and Inuyasha - a story which will be told in good time.

I have been an avid follower for several years. Though I do not claim to be one of the greats in terms of knowledge, I know I love this hobby and will follow it for a long time to come.

Gary Steven

guts

The little punk, making me write his bio. Who does he think he is, Caesar?

Gary Steven is younger than I, is in fact the baby of the family, which means I as eldest have the power, and will ruthlessly use older sister grumpiness against him if he gets too far out of line.

It is Gary who got into Anime/Manga first, and follows it more closely - more likely being the one who, if you mentioned an older or hard to find title, he would be the one who would know what you were talking about. He is also the one who tried Sushi first, a fact which he still holds over me to this day.

He has a great interest in swords and knives, and most other sharp pointy things that look very intimidating when a six foot guy wields them. Talk swords with him, and he'll be in heaven. Please don't encourage him to buy anymore though, he has enough.

Seth

croooow

Seth is simply insane. Why else would he marry into our family?

Well, I guess he needs a little more intro than that.

Originally hailing from the mean streets of New York, Seth found his way to the pothole riddled streets of Pittsburgh PA because of college (he has a degree from Carnegie Mellon University.) As what often happens after college, he found himself a job, and decided to remain in Pittsburgh for awhile.

Seth and I met originally through an online dating service - see, the computer is good for more than anime and porn. I introduced him to Twisted Toyfare Theatre and wouldn't tell him my last name until our third date. Somehow he stayed with me anyway.

We have been together several years now, and we are still very happy and very much in love. I guess you can't ask for more than that.

Seth is not Otaku by any stretch - though there are a couple manga titles he reads (Berserk) for the most part he is more the Sci-fi style geek. Still, he supports me in my hobby, lets me run with this website and talkcast, and goes to the Conventions with me (though I'm sure seeing the girls in their Cosplay doesn't hurt the cause there).

I couldn't do any of this without him.
